Julia Equi

Julia Equi is a cinematographer with 25 years of experience and extensive
leadership in streaming series. She was the cinematographer for “Lady Voyeur”
(Netflix), both seasons of “Turma da Mônica – A Série” (Globoplay), the second
season of “The fives” (Globoplay), “Histórias (Im)possíveis” (Globoplay), “Summer
Heat” (Netflix), “Their Story” (Disney+/Starplus), among others. With an award-
winning career, she won Best Cinematography at the Septimius Awards Festival in
Amsterdam for the series “Lady Voyeur” (Netflix) and the ABC Award for Best
Cinematography in a Documentary Feature for the film “Just Girls” (HBO). Julia is a
recognized member of the Brazilian Collective of Cinematography Directors (DAFB)
and the Brazilian Cinematography Association (ABC).


Julia began as a camera assistant working with acclaimed cinematographers such
as Affonso Beato, Colin Watkinson, Alex Barber, Peter Suchitsky, Peter Menzies
Junior, Jeff Turick, Adriano Goldman, Ricardo Della Rosa, Heloisa Passos, among
others.


She also was camera operator and focus puller on the franchise feature “Rio, I love
you” collaborating with Paolo Sorrentino, DOP Daria D’Antonio, John Turturo, DOP
Marco Pontecovo, Stephen Elliot, DOP Enrique Chediak, Guillermo Arriaga, DOP
Adrian Teijido, Fernando Meireles, DOP Cesar Charlone, Carlos Saldanha, DOP
Marcelo Durst.


Her story with photography began when she was 3 years old with an Olympus Trip
camera she got from her father. Inseparable companion until today, she made of
